Alternative Second Step
It is advisable to set up a backup second step you can use in case the 2 step verification process is not available. Google gives you various options you can use. Some of them include:
1. Backup Codes
At times, you may not have access to your phone but you still want to access your Gmail account. Backup codes will be useful in such a situation. These codes can only be used once.

2. Backup Phone
You can include an alternative phone number to use to get your verification code in case you do not have access to your other phone

3. Google Prompt
This process works by tapping ‘Yes’ once the Google prompt appears on your phone

4. Authenticator App
The app enables you to get verification codes regardless of whether your phone is offline or not.

Q & A
What do I do if I did not receive a verification code?
Ensure that you have a mobile phone signal. At times, text delivery or the phone call may delay depending on your location and your service provider. If you did not answer the phone call, check your voice mail. The message with the code will be left there. Additionally, ensure your device and service provider support delivery of text messages.

This may be because the app is not properly synced. Correct this by following the steps below.
